The army denied the claim of 6 surgical strikes of Congress, said – Never before September 2016
In the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, BJP appeared to be taking the lead on the basis of surgical strikes and air strikes, the Congress also claimed that 6 surgical strikes were done even during the UPA era. In response to an RTI filed on this, the army has said that during the UPA era there was no surgical strike on Pakistan’s land.
On the request of an RTI activist of Jammu, Army General of Military Operations (DGMO) said this on Tuesday. RTI activist Rohit Chaudhary had sought information on how many times the military strikes on Pakistan after 2004 to 2014 and after September 2014? How successful were they? In response, the DGMO said that we do not know of any surgical strike done before September 29, 2016.
Recently, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had said that the Congress government had given free access to the Armed Forces. During the UPA regime, the army had several surgical strikes. The military campaign for us was a means of answering the anti-India forces, not the way to get votes. The BJP, while questioning the claims of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, said that the Congress has become addicted to lying.
